Recently, CCTV-1 News reported on the completion and commissioning of the Jinshang-Hubei ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project of the State Grid Corporation of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Jinshang-Hubei Project"). This is the first UHV DC project that extends deep into the heart of the Sichuan-Tibet Plateau, and it holds significant strategic importance in promoting cross-regional optimization of clean energy allocation, facilitating the green and low-carbon transformation of energy, and enhancing national energy security and supply capabilities.
Jinshang-Hubei Project is the first high-altitude, sub-station cascade UHV DC project. The project line spans the Yangtze River, climbs over the Hengduan Mountains, and extends to the hinterland of the Sichuan-Tibet Plateau, posing high technical challenges and great construction difficulties. All participating units conscientiously implemented the requirements of "six precisions and four modernizations", overcame numerous difficulties such as high-altitude construction, harsh geological conditions, and tight construction resources, and successfully completed the construction task, adding another major energy artery to the "West-East Electricity Transmission" network.
